Space Rift- Episode 1 PS VR PS4 is a space adventure game where players take on the role of space minor Casey Black. As intergalactic battle ensues, the reluctant warrior is forced to strap on a laser gun and join the fight.

The game boasts a strong storytelling element that is diminished to a certain extend by the rather jarring voiceovers. There are plenty of different missions to complete, although anyone who has ever played a game of this type before will be able to predict them fairly easily. However, the game is redeemed by its stunning graphics, which are enhanced to striking effect by the use of virtual reality and a collection of rather cool sound effects.

As the first instalment in an epic space saga, Space Rift- Episode 1 PS VR PS4 introduces the plot and cast of characters well and anyone who has a love for all things sci-fi as well as firing weapons with abandon is sure to have a lot of fun. However, the fact that there are more parts to come means that there is no real conclusion and players are left with more questions than answers, which can feel a bit unsatisfying overall.
